Speto – Brazil:
Speto was born and raised
in São Paulo. His creative background is one
of urban art and graffiti but his illustrations also
have a “woodcut” feel, showing variations
on distinctive South American folklore motifs. Speto
cites his influences as being: “Cordels, painted
calabashes, Russian puppets, Chinese paper cut-outs,
black magic Orishas, Catholic icons, Japanese mangas
and Polynesian deities.” He also works in animation,
motion graphics and video and is a self-confessed
workaholic with client list as varied as his influences.
